My Museum-Simulate art and Indiana Jones style exhibitions

Growing up I actually liked going to museums. It was either the environment of packing up for the day and spending time in a new place or the feeling of “time traveling” and seeing how life and things were back in ancient times. And not even ancient times; learning about our own surroundings even in the then and now. Wow, I felt some nostalgia there for a moment thinking of my museum visits as a kid and taking my sons to even some in the last few years. Well with how the world has been going, some places are 100% open back up and some with small restrictions you may be able to still enjoy some museum time and you yourself be the curator of it.

You know me, I love my simulation games and when My Museum came across my sites I had to dive into it. My museum is developed by ManyDev Studio and Code Meister. It is not available yet on Steam but I would definitely add it to your wishlist for when the prologue drops.I got this game free of charge to play test and give what I give best, my honest review.

My actual game play screen shot *getting to my museum*

Opening up My Museum starts off already relaxing. The music is enlightening and the textures are very smooth and crisp. If you have ever played or watched house flipper it has those vibes. Everything you will be doing is in first person ,view of hands and arms mode. So it puts you right there handling all the work. So what exactly are we doing in a museum simulator? There is more to it than I had actually expected. The forefront of the game is that you have inherited your grandfather’s museum and it is in pretty bad shape. But you’re an art lover, antiques restorer, traveling business man/woman so this should be a breeze. Right?

Demo days are always fun days. As you start restoring your museum you have a plan to make it the best of its kind for critics and visitors to enjoy. You can head to your computer to purchase items from more art, displays and tools to do your job. But the fun part is getting to go out on exhibitions. The first adventure takes us to a temple in Egypt, it gives us some Indiana Jones vibes. We have to uncover puzzles, paths and stories to find more artifacts to bring back to the museum. I personally got nervous. Please in real life do not just take something from a sacred location, that just gave me goosebumps. But for the game, we shall collect. From there it’s said in the game that you have to weigh out your options of cleaning and displaying it or leave it in its age of distress and sell it. Because some items just may do better untouched and sold rather than restoring it and losing out on some money. YIKES!

In game it already shows that there are enough things to keep you busy. If you’re like me I spend way too much time decorating. Okay, in my eyes it’s just enough time for my vision; that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I’m curious to see if we will be able to expand the museum, what lies behind some places that look like doorways, what else is in that Egyptian temple and what will the lineup of exhibitions be? I took their survey and I personally voted for Atlantis.

Short but hands on play test, I’ll be close watching to see more on what My Museum grows into.

Save the bees; Bee Simulator

I love a good simulator and it’s hard for me to walk away from one. My brother was doing his daily game browsing and he found this cute game, Bee Simulator on Steam.

When I say my brother knows me, he knows exactly what is right up my alley. I had the stream key in my inbox before I knew it. Released November 17, 2020; so, it has couple years on it. You can purchase Bee Simulator for $19.99 (keep an eye out I just saw it’s on sale under $10) When my brother purchased the game he said proceeds went to a bee preservation non profit.

Now if you know any simulation game, it puts you in the forefront of what it’s like doing that specific job. And as expected you get to be a Bee. A cute, talking bee apart of a huge, beautiful hive.

Not to mention you can remote play Bee Simulator in Steam so you and a friend can Co-Op

My game play from Bee Simulator *Leaving the Hive*

The devs Varsav Game Studios captured not only the life of a bee but a beautiful atmosphere of what they might see. Not just the beautiful view of the flowers, but how they might interact with other insects, running into people being a full adventurer on the search for pollen and nectar.

The detailing in the game from the bees body and wings to the whole environment is breath taking and I give it a full applause. Besides visual beauty you get a few learning points in the game.

You collect trophies from the trophy room of other animals and insects you come across. It gives you informative information on where they can be found in the habitats, what they eat, predators and more. Animal lovers will love this for sure. This game gives us not only a chill vibe but a reason to learn why we should save and protect the bees and other living creatures.

Now don’t fret, you aren’t just flying around, pollinating and learning. There are some obstacles as a bee you have to face. Some are fun and some are fight worthy, literally.

My game play from Bee Simulator *Collected in the trophy room*

You’ll find yourself fighting wasps and hornets that are trying to take over your hive. Sometimes they do put up a fight, but the fighting mechanics are pretty easy. It’s as simple as a left right click on perfect timing on your mouse.

When you aren’t protecting you can do other side missions to help other bees get special flowers or race them even. You’ll get what’s called bee vision and you’ll have the ability to see common, uncommon, rare and epic flowers. The higher the rarity the more pollen and nectar you’ll get and take what you can back to the hive before winter hits.

To be able to have a game that’s visually appealing and a family game is a plus for me. This is something I’d love to share with my 7-year-old who does enjoy learning about animals, and we have had plenty of discussion on why we need to protect the bees. He’s gotten better at not freaking out around then.

My game play from Bee Simulator *Bee Vision*

If adventure, casual and simulation games are right up your alley, please try out Bee Simulator. Not to mention the music is very quaint and relaxing. I can see myself buzzing around after a long workday to just sit back and relax.

One summer in Copenhagen

To say I deal with anxiety and depression is an understatement. It literally almost runs my life. But I digress, it makes me who I am and I have learned to control, relax and find my space when I hit those moments. So, living with such a mental illness IRL; let’s put it into a game and see how we can play out someone else’s life with it. I introduce to you, Stilstand.

Still stand is available on Steam, iOS and Google Play

Stilstand is a casual Indie game that released on steam on Aug 27, 2020; developed and published by Niila Games. When you first see this game, not even going to lie I thought of some old 1980’s music video, the sketched out background and moving so quickly it makes your eyes cross. It’s different but from some of the reviews just might be worth the play

This is a work of art. Of course more an interactive story than a game, but it’s so beautiful and poetic. I totally recommend this as an example of the kind of immersive poetry you can create with the game as a medium. Love it.

Luhmann on steam

The entire game is hand drown, interactive like a graphic novel. It highlights and focuses on how in today’s world we have all of these high expectations for young people and how fragile they are and why they seem to struggle. Well, that’s me at even 32 years old right?

Follow along with a young woman as she starts to tackler her life and simply stay above sea level. It’s the Summer time in Copenhagen; she is filled with anxiety and loneliness. Well, she doesn’t seem to be quite fully alone. Either she is crazy or I’m missing something in my own home but she speaks with a shadow person in her apartment. Is it there to help her or push you over the edge?

Maybe be careful going into this game if you are dealing with severe depression/anxiety, or have or had bipolar or borderline personality disorder as I know this type of game will trigger some difficult memories and feelings.

Maghook on steam

There is love, adventure, texting and even social media you need to help her get through to make the right choices. There may be some slight older references so I would leave this game for the more mature gamers.

Can the shadow person in her apartment help her through anxiety and loneliness?

If you would like something very different and I hear the game isn’t too long. Check out steam for Stilstand at $9.99. It first came out on iOS and is also available on Google Play.

Become Mother Nature: free of man

If you know me, you know I love a good simulation game. So when I was contacted by Kris – Director at Future Friends Games- about Cloud Gardens I had to dig into this. I won’t lie, it took me a couple of days to understand exactly what this game was and even about. I almost passed on it because I simply said… I don’t get it…

So, we know it’s a simulation game but it’s not like any other I personally have played. There are some games I can compare it to but I feel it still just has its own vibe about it.

Creator Noio Games (Thomas van den Berg) put together a mother nature style simulation game. There are no people, no shooting, no boss battles; in a sense we are coming in after the apocalypse has occurred and helping mother nature do what she does best. And that is grow. You take complete control of nature in lo-fi scenes of urban decay and manufactured landscapes. It’s your job to be strategic in seed placement in these locations to embark on a full land of flowers, shrubs, trees and more without the walls of a greenhouse or potted soil.

When I first took a look at the trailer and screenshots of the game sent over to me, my mind went straight to Poison Ivy, she would be so proud. I picture myself as her in all the glory of letting plants take over what man destroyed. The soothing sounds of the music, even the click of placing items; I can see myself emerged into this for hours. The colors of the plants and even structure of buildings and automotives. Job well done.

The game runs in two modes: sandbox where you can sit and relax to the soothing sounds of Amos Roddy, composer of the Kingdom Series, and be as creative as you want to be or do campaign mode of 6 chapters of one goal. Cover all things manufactured in the love of greenery.

How can you have a game with no people, animals, interactions? When playing the campaign you do have goals and situations to hit. Just because there may not be people or animals , plants have needs too and certain conditions to thrive in. It’s up to you to be the judge of these placements and indicators to let you know where you are before you move on to the next location.

After diving in and really understanding the path the developer was going, I can not wait to get started. I released the information to my discord fam and I already got some interesting feedback on seeing how this game takes off.

The Cloud Gardens game looks pretty cool. Like super chill vibes

Cloud Gardens will be available on Steam Sept 9, 2020. I plan on streaming for the first time that evening around 7pm cst on Twitch (http://twitch.tv/lunamarie33)

Finger Lickin’ Review

I love you Colonel Sanders: A finger lickin’ good dating simulator came out on steam just a few days ago on Sept 24th. KFC came up with this idea and the developer Psyop made it happen. Yes you read right KFC made a dating game; and who do you think you date? The one and only Colonel Sanders, well the younger version.

Luna Galaxy Live stream of I love You Colonel Sanders

You are set up as a college student at the University of Cooking School: Academy of Learning, you aren’t starting out alone, you have your best friend Miriam who was born and raised by chefs. She is very supportive and usually has to be watched over as she freaks out pretty regularly.

You cannot have a dating game without a healthy rivalry. You will come across Aeshleigh and Van Van the two dunces that think they are top notch and one who is after the Colonel just as much as you are. The jokes are dry and as I did the live stream we got a lot of statements that Aeshleigh resembled a Guilty Gear character and Van Van was a JoJo knock off character. That made the role play voices I did even more fun.

Left to right: Aeshleigh, Miriam and Van Van.
Luna Galaxy Live stream of I love You Colonel Sanders

There are a few dry jokes, weird occurrences and Colonel Sanders comes off as a narcissist. As you’re trying to impress your professor, a korgi named Sprinkles and woo the Colonel, be careful when you make a too forward move you lose the game instantly. Take note, if you pick the answer that is more of an innuendo he will push you off because his brain is stuck on a bucket of chicken. Speak chicken, biscuits and mashed potatoes and you’re in.

So as I played, I made up my own backstories for characters and just sat there with a what the heck face; you will even have a choice to get into a battle scene that was more weird than anything. You will run into a spork monster ball of mashed potatoes that apparently use to be a dog and a grimoire book of magic that students and yourself got ahold of…Yeah that was so left field.

Professor Sprinkles; Luna Galaxy Live stream of I love You Colonel Sanders

So if you are still hanging on you still must be intrigued. I wont spoil it but after 4 hours of stream we made it through the game and I know our outcome is that we did get to date the Colonel but I may play through it again to see if there is an alternate ending. How the game ended did show a little bit more of that narcissist side of Sanders we saw many times in the game. Let’s just say chicken is his life and he wont let much get in the way of that.

For this choose your own adventure-style dating simulator it was interesting to say the least. The intro of the game alone is fun and bubbly. The only problem is that it made me pretty hungry and thinking about how the biscuits are usually my favorite from KFC and the crunchy style chicken, yeah now I want a $5 bowl.

Battling Sporky; Luna Galaxy Live stream of I love You Colonel Sanders

Let me know if you have tired the KFC game and if you’ll be snagging it up and seeing what this is all about. From the Galaxy I give it a personal 3 stars for graphics, mild/dry humor and hey it’s a game by KFC. Let us know in the comments what your thoughts are. Do you think more restaurants should be advertising in this way?

Galaxy out,

Luna
