Become Mother Nature: free of man

If you know me, you know I love a good simulation game. So when I was contacted by Kris – Director at Future Friends Games- about Cloud Gardens I had to dig into this. I won’t lie, it took me a couple of days to understand exactly what this game was and even about. I almost passed on it because I simply said… I don’t get it…

So, we know it’s a simulation game but it’s not like any other I personally have played. There are some games I can compare it to but I feel it still just has its own vibe about it.

Creator Noio Games (Thomas van den Berg) put together a mother nature style simulation game. There are no people, no shooting, no boss battles; in a sense we are coming in after the apocalypse has occurred and helping mother nature do what she does best. And that is grow. You take complete control of nature in lo-fi scenes of urban decay and manufactured landscapes. It’s your job to be strategic in seed placement in these locations to embark on a full land of flowers, shrubs, trees and more without the walls of a greenhouse or potted soil.

When I first took a look at the trailer and screenshots of the game sent over to me, my mind went straight to Poison Ivy, she would be so proud. I picture myself as her in all the glory of letting plants take over what man destroyed. The soothing sounds of the music, even the click of placing items; I can see myself emerged into this for hours. The colors of the plants and even structure of buildings and automotives. Job well done.

The game runs in two modes: sandbox where you can sit and relax to the soothing sounds of Amos Roddy, composer of the Kingdom Series, and be as creative as you want to be or do campaign mode of 6 chapters of one goal. Cover all things manufactured in the love of greenery.

How can you have a game with no people, animals, interactions? When playing the campaign you do have goals and situations to hit. Just because there may not be people or animals , plants have needs too and certain conditions to thrive in. It’s up to you to be the judge of these placements and indicators to let you know where you are before you move on to the next location.

After diving in and really understanding the path the developer was going, I can not wait to get started. I released the information to my discord fam and I already got some interesting feedback on seeing how this game takes off.

The Cloud Gardens game looks pretty cool. Like super chill vibes

Join the club…The Blackout Club.

Screaming, running from the screen and close to peeing your pants is one thing that horror game players get a kick out of right? The thrill of the game; let’s agree we get a high out of it.

Developer and franchiser Question Games put together a jaw dropping, edge of your seat sitting, leaving you asking questions game banger. Welcome to The Blackout Club. Released July 30, 2019 The Blackout Club is a 1-4 player player Indie game that procedurally generates missions where you and your co-op team go against a fearsome enemy, The Shape, where you can only see when you close your eyes…Excuse me.

MEET THE SHAPE

I started this game as a blind play through with the live stream on Twitch. The viewers knew about as much as me…NOTHING. We hit play and just wished for the best. When you start the game it does suggest you start with the prologue to understand the back story of the game and why these teenagers are being investigators. The fun part of the game is that you can set the game to where it goes off of your breathing and sound you make through your mic. Heightens the fright just right.

Check the stream highlights and a bigger insight into how the game plays.

Keep in mind The Blackout Club is a group of teenagers who are finding out something mysterious is going on in their home town and the adults laugh it off when they try and confess things to them. Everyone seems to go to sleep at night but some teenagers have woken up in the middle of forests, shipping yards; places definitely not their bed where they would expect to be.

Now hearing this is a thriller and the main characters are teenagers some may be concerned. This is a mature game as you never see the straight cause of death there are scenes that may depict a struggle, fight or even death. Now you can’t attack one another as teenagers and the bad guys and adults wont hurt you in a sense of death. The most they do is grab you but it says wounded; just slows you down and you can wrap up with bandages…If you have them. To protect yourself and cause distractions you and your team have a range of weapons, fire crackers and darts you choose from and you can use to knock them out. Sleepy time.

RUN!!!!!!!

So you saw me mention adults not believing kids and even having to watch out for the adults when your investigating. Well everyone gets up in the middle of the night and sleep walks. The Shape along with the sleepers are brainwashing the adults and they have no clue they are potentially attacking their kids…Straight freaky.

Once I got the hang of the game, you can actually run a map by yourself, I do want to get some more friends to play and see if we can be sneaky and get the jobs done we need to. If you love Dead by Daylight I do highly recommend this game. I do feel it has a little bit higher scare factor to it and more that you need to pay attention to but for sure a great thriller game to add to your steam collection.

Colonel Sanders is tossing out more than just chicken and mashed potatoes. You can thank KFC and the developer Psyopsis for this new dating simulator. “I love you, Colonel Sanders! A finger licking good dating simulator.” A new meaning to finger licking good right?

I Love you Colonel Sanders PC game

That’s right you can soon play an anime simulation dating game on steam with the well-known mascot for KFC, Colonel Sanders. You play as another cooking enthusiast during a younger time in the Colonel’s life. Culinary school, where you aim to win the Colonel’s love and be thrown cooking competitions, deal with rivalries and see if your romantic life can with stand all of life’s dramas.

This game really puts a smile on my face, especially if you love simulation games. It has the basic layout and animation as common anime games go. This will only be available on steam through PC but the date has yet to be released. (UPDATE: KFC POSTED SEPT 24th game will be available on steam. ) I would like to even see this on possible mobile.

Are you a fan of simulation games and how do you see this spinning off? I just wonder what made KFC think of this. Whoever is in their creative team has even had some pretty funny commercials as well so it’s interesting that they went the path of a game. Leave your thoughts down in the comments.
