A Final Fantasy, life/farm simulator you didn’t know you needed.

We have seen a massive growth in farm simulation games. If you watched the most recent Nintendo Direct, sim lovers such as myself were jumping for joy at a few games. Which I will most definitely be touching base on those at another time. I’m here for the newest game coming out Nov 4, 2022 called Harvestella. Square Enix is known for their Final Fantasy series of games in the RPG category. But lately they have been touching base and branching out to evolve their RPG’s into more than just RPG. Even if you play FFXIV online. They have opened up another side to simulation in their sanctuary islands for each individual player.

Harvestella can be found on Nintendo Switch and on Steam for PC for $59.99. Currently there is a prologue demo available on the Switch that will take you up to chapter 2 or 15 days in game time. When you start this demo it will save the progress you make. When the game does come out and you won’t have to play it over again. Let’s dive into a little bit more of what we can expect from Harvestella.

Harvestella *snapshots from my own gameplay*

How does this pan out in the simulation games if Square Enix are known for the RPG’s? Harvestella is a FF meets ACNH (Animal Crossing New Horizons), meets Stardew Valley. There is action with fighting woodland creatures, a story line and quests you can do to level up your character, tools and equipment. The look of the game screams and speaks to Final Fantasy graphics, when I streamed the demo on Twitch the first comments were. “This is a beautiful game.” The simulation comes in when you get the ability to grow your own crops in a farm and unlock and care for farm animals and a house that is given to you and even fish. As you go out on paths and quests you will collect items from wood, iron and mining materials to even craft and cook. When You head to town there are shops such as the general store and Smithy; but keep in mind they close at 8pm, in game time and you need to be in bed by midnight. No, you won’t turn into a pumpkin but like Stardew you will pass out. I haven’t experienced it yet; I hope you don’t lose money or supplies. There is a village of people you will grow to learn, and these are the people you are helping to protect from Quietus.

When you first start off the game, after you go through your player customization. It’s simple but they do offer male, female and non-binary traits. You are passed out literally in the middle of nowhere and it’s very dark and gloomy. Noone will come outside. When you go up to a few houses the villagers even question why you are outside at such a harsh time. Quietus is the season of death that visits with every changing season and it seems to get longer and longer each time. Your job is to uncover this season of death, how to stop it and which world you will end up saving. It starts out very informative and it does bounce back and forth at first. It gives you a lot of contexts of what the story is building to then you’ll get free time to work on your farm, craft, see the village etc. It helps you stay on track with the story cutscenes, but you still get the relaxing time to do your life/farm simulation.

I’d say it’s a pretty good healthy balance of those who love stories and quests and then those who do enjoy the simulation side of games. I wont say too much so you can get the chance to play the demo or get the start of the adventure Nov 4th. If you’d like to see the game play please check the video as I start playing the prologue demo on the Nintendo Switch.

More to Zombie than mmm-eats the eye

If you know me, you know I have a high, deathly fear of zombies. It’s true, I have an apocalypse team. But if there is any zombie that has my heart it’s blunt mouthed, hard working and never out spoken XzombieXgirlXx. She is a woman who will kick ass and not stop to take names and keep right on going.

Call her Zombie Or Zombie Girl, she isn’t new to the scene and definately has no plans on leaving it as well. Zombie has been gaming since her early teens on the Dreamcast; that’s OG.

If you don’t have an idea of what that is, then you have missed out on gaming some awesome things.

She made a lot of movement in her teens after console upgrades and new game drops. The very popular Call of Duty seemed to tickle her fancy. So at the age of 18 she took to the Esports side of gaming; squaded up and the rest was history.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) was her poison of choice. It’s safe to say that this path opened up more for her down the road.

I got into Esports more by joining teams and helping mange them…

XzombieXgirlXx

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 was the first game that Zombie started competing in with her Esports team.

Call of duty MW3 released Nov 8, 2011

She doesn’t sugar coat her gains; being in this industry as a female is difficult. Zombie holds this nature of helping others before helping herself. Time and time again she had to prove herself to others but also in that same time, has helped major teams get the push they needed.

1: What made you pick up the controller in your early teens?

So when I was young I was not allowed to game it was for boys and I had to sneak around to play so when I started picking up the controller I was playing anything I could and noticed I was really good at shooting games and had to get into it more so that’s what made me pick it up honestly.

2: Did you expect to live this life as a gamer back then?

Being honest fuck no lol I look back and laugh a little cause I’m like nah this shit is not going anywhere and look now Esports and gaming are bigger than the NFL. So I’m glad I never gave up. Honestly I’m happy with being a gamer for life.

3: Why do you feel gaming should be on the map for sporting events?

I believe Esports is way more than just gaming honestly and should be in sporting events. Players make more than you think and get noticed by major companies; more so than celebs. It brings in all ages and families; it needs to be on the map.

4: Do you think in the dark web there are actually more female gamers and/or Esports women out there? But because of the stigmatism they are hiding?

I believe there are many female gamers out there that have gone unnoticed in the esport world and also I feel like some don’t wanna do it because of bad reps of other teams with men and people. I don’t think they’re hiding. I think teams don’t want women and it’s sad because I have seen better female players then men.

5: Do you prefer streaming or working behind the scene in the Esports field?

I wanna say I prefer streaming and working on the front of the scene in the esports field as women. I don’t wanna be put on the back burner. My experience with most orgs or teams I was a part of ; they never wanted to listen to me as I was a female and didn’t know anything about gaming which pissed me off. I wanna be front and center as an equal.

6: How does your family feel about how much you’re into gaming?

I’m supported by my wife zombieslilmoster and her family and they push me to go beyond what I ever thought I could. And it’s important to involve them in what I do a lot so I love the support!

7: Do you have any regrets on the path gaming has brought you this far?

I have no regrets. I have learned many things and I have grown from my mistakes and I’m grateful!

8: You started on Mixer and moved to Twitch. What’s the verdict… do you still feel Mixer would do better had they not closed down?

Wherever I go I will be successful no matter what but I will grow and support everyone I can! Doesn’t matter the platform it matters about the amazing viewers and streamers. I have met so many that I  support and continue meeting; without them I’m nothing. My stream world gets the credit and made me who I am today and I thank them all for that!

I’m currently streaming on Twitch, it’s been a struggle but it’s been a daily joy. I am now apart of a new Esports team called Zee Royalty; be on the lookout for bi monthly podcasts on gaming/issues/events.

Zombie has a heart and fire; not only for her path but those who may struggle without one. Being a woman and a member of the LBGTQ community, her voice is advocating for you as well.

Join the club…The Blackout Club.

Screaming, running from the screen and close to peeing your pants is one thing that horror game players get a kick out of right? The thrill of the game; let’s agree we get a high out of it.

Developer and franchiser Question Games put together a jaw dropping, edge of your seat sitting, leaving you asking questions game banger. Welcome to The Blackout Club. Released July 30, 2019 The Blackout Club is a 1-4 player player Indie game that procedurally generates missions where you and your co-op team go against a fearsome enemy, The Shape, where you can only see when you close your eyes…Excuse me.

MEET THE SHAPE

https://clips.twitch.tv/MistyEnthusiasticKeyboardHumbleLife

I started this game as a blind play through with the live stream on Twitch. The viewers knew about as much as me…NOTHING. We hit play and just wished for the best. When you start the game it does suggest you start with the prologue to understand the back story of the game and why these teenagers are being investigators. The fun part of the game is that you can set the game to where it goes off of your breathing and sound you make through your mic. Heightens the fright just right.

Check the stream highlights and a bigger insight into how the game plays.

Keep in mind The Blackout Club is a group of teenagers who are finding out something mysterious is going on in their home town and the adults laugh it off when they try and confess things to them. Everyone seems to go to sleep at night but some teenagers have woken up in the middle of forests, shipping yards; places definitely not their bed where they would expect to be.

Now hearing this is a thriller and the main characters are teenagers some may be concerned. This is a mature game as you never see the straight cause of death there are scenes that may depict a struggle, fight or even death. Now you can’t attack one another as teenagers and the bad guys and adults wont hurt you in a sense of death. The most they do is grab you but it says wounded; just slows you down and you can wrap up with bandages…If you have them. To protect yourself and cause distractions you and your team have a range of weapons, fire crackers and darts you choose from and you can use to knock them out. Sleepy time.

RUN!!!!!!!

https://clips.twitch.tv/EvilPolishedOilWTRuck

So you saw me mention adults not believing kids and even having to watch out for the adults when your investigating. Well everyone gets up in the middle of the night and sleep walks. The Shape along with the sleepers are brainwashing the adults and they have no clue they are potentially attacking their kids…Straight freaky.

Photo by NEOSiAM 2020 on Pexels.com

Once I got the hang of the game, you can actually run a map by yourself, I do want to get some more friends to play and see if we can be sneaky and get the jobs done we need to. If you love Dead by Daylight I do highly recommend this game. I do feel it has a little bit higher scare factor to it and more that you need to pay attention to but for sure a great thriller game to add to your steam collection.

I can either do this alone…Or in an organization…I think?

In the land of content creating people usually started to stream because they saw how playing a video game made an individual more money than working a part time job or even 9-5. But it doesn’t work exactly that easy. Hours, days and sometimes years go into getting yourself to a “making money” standpoint. If you have what it takes to stand out and appeal to your audience.

Now of course… not saying all people started for the growth of money. We do have legit and honest streamers that started to stream to meet others, to not play a multiplayer game well, alone. But whatever the reasoning, once you start streaming you will notice the words; organization, community and stream team thrown around like hot rice cakes.

I took to the lovely polls and asked a range of different content creators/streamers through various platforms to answer some small questions pertaining to orgs, communities and stream teams. Hold up one minute… you don’t know what these are? Stream teams, orgs and communities are groups of people who ban together usually through what is called Discord to help promote, chat, connect and well push one another in their subject field of gaming.

One comes with more rules than the other and sometimes contracts depending of course who is running the show and if they are trying to get paid content creators/streamers.

Photo by lalesh aldarwish on Pexels.com

Organizations for example are usually bigger than the 3 groups. Some come with contracts, payments deals and competitive teams you actually have to try out for. These types of groups can be very rewarding to a streamer when you find the right fit.

Stream teams are a little bit less demanding but you as a streamer/content creator still have to support and keep up with the group to keep your standing and work together. The org and stream teams usually do have some form of a management team; even if they don’t want to call themselves that, someone is and has to be in charge of the streamers.

Communities are usually what everyday streamers have of their own communities; a place to open up and let everyone use discord as a chat room grounds and organize channels per interests, get to know streamers, link drops etc. Anything that helps everyone involved promote themselves and well still support the main streamer that even started the community in the first place. But there have been streamers who paired up in discords to spread the responsibilities and it makes sense if you and a friend or two are always the ones playing together, why have different discords.

I won’t dive into context, most of the team I’m invited to join communities or organizations and the moment I join I’m immediately swept under the rug. Or most of the time there’s zero incentive to interact with anyone and usually there is only a small group of people out of a horde that actually communicate & said group is a major clique.

anonymous

Did you get all of that? Let’s take to the polls and see how people really feel about these groups and if they should just back off and let people be on their own like, well, they used to be.

** Also if you ever want to be a part of the open polls for the channel comment down below your email, twitch handle or email so I have a means to send the link to you. **

For those 21.4% of you who stated that you had no idea what the difference was between these groups in the gaming online world, well I helped you out there right above. In the meantime 64.3% of you feel like all of these groups are significantly different while 14.3% of you feel like they really aren’t. I am personally in the 64.3% of yes they are significantly different; my almost 2 years of streaming and about 7 years of content creating I have been in a org and a built stream team but I didn’t actually take the poll.

If you have already taken your own opinion on orgs, stream teams and communities and you haven’t taken the poll; one question I wanted to hear was how others felt about being under management when these groups are not “officially government jobs” but someone has to take the lead. I was graced to be a stream lead when I was in an org and a part of a start up stream team. Since leaving I heard a lot from others that they felt the owner or other top personnel didn’t abide by the TOS that they created for the org/stream team. In some cases the streamers had to sign off on.

On top of this alone, many felt it was always one sided; just for the ones who created these groups to get their own content and streaming ahead?

78.6% stated that they felt like these owners/leaders/top management did whatever they wanted to get ahead and were straight hypocrites actually to what they could do compared to what the streamers/content creators could do. They never played by the rules and were never true leaders for those smaller streamers to look up to. 21.4% felt a different way; this group thinks that those in charge shouldn’t be held to the same standards that well they own it, what they say and do goes. Very, very interesting.

When you want to start an organization it’s nice to have your friends by your side. When you run an organization it’s best to not only be with your friends.

anonymous

Feeling that heat come off, how does that leave equality across the board? 50% feel that there is no equality across stream teams, organizations and communities. It’s a dog eat dog and popularity contest and possibly who’s butt you can kiss who is one of the top dogs in Discord and stream. Ouch

Photo by Soumil Kumar on Pexels.com

There is never equality in any business or organization. You have those that go out of their way to suck up or the boss has their own friends. There is always going to be some that the higher ups feel don’t contribute but that’s do to lack of recognition.

anonymous

Usually network partnership deals involve a power scheme. Whether it’s said or not there’s always individuals who have a better work ethic than others which usually result with a lot of the decisions being finalized by said people.

anonymous

Streaming and content creation took off with a HUGE bang and now the loss of one of the platforms there will most likely be another push and shove to the top or at least to make some type of living for yourself. Add the pandemic on top of it. Just keep working hard; whatever your path and your reasoning for content creating, choose for you and always keep striving to better yourself for the love of creating. If you choose to join anything, do your research, ask recommendations. If an org, team etc. is legit they won’t be offended if someone is trying to make sure they are making a smart choice for their career.

Comment down below if you have a poll idea or check the contact tab for a way to get a hold of me to discuss anything you would like.

Live Streaming: Trolls 101

I got asked by a fellow streaming to hit on the topic of:

How do you handle trolls in your live streams as a woman?

Yes we all know men and woman and all in between gets trolls but she asked me specifically how I handle them as a female which many will probably find themselves doing the same things.

When I started out streaming, I was already nervous because I have self-image issues as it is. I already had started comparing myself to other female streamers and what they had that I didn’t…

Being roughly 2 ½ years in the game I still find myself comparing myself and it doesn’t hit me as hard and the same goes for trolls. Trolls are people who hide behind a screen and look to belittle, break and mentally hurt the person they are viewing. Why do they do this you ask? If you’re a troll can you please answer this question? We can only guess that either they have the lowest of the low self-esteem and others’ pain makes them feel… 1% better. Their mom won’t change their laundry out for them even though the washer and drying is right there in the basement with them or they failed at streaming so they pick on people who they are jealous of and later they cry in a corner holding their game controller asking themselves why. Now these are only assumptions but inquiring minds would like to know.

I had a good round of trolls come into my stream over this very last weekend. They actually don’t happen that often but I always come prepared.

1: Get yourself a mod or two. Discuss their do’s and don’ts and work out a time schedule.

2: Don’t feed into them. If your mod is there they will see the troll before you even do. But if you do INSTANT BAN. Don’t acknowledge them because that is what they want.

3: Remind yourself that they are no bodies, just sad, pathetic people who honestly probably need a hug.

4: Have a go to person: Sometimes the trolls may hit a trigger but don’t let it show, have a friend to go to talk about it. Sometimes getting it out makes your next streams and even reactions to the trolls so much better and easier.

5: Don’t even talk about them in any social media platform. The want to be known, so don’t give it to them.

6: If needed report those straight to your desired platform support team ie: twitch, facebook mixer etc.

7: Sometimes you just have to troll the troll. If your chat and you turn on the troll it can take a fun turn and I feel like all the trolls get together and worn each other when and where to go. So lets be on the Trolls dot work here list.

Trolls won’t stand a chance if we rise above and just keep doing what we love. I know, easier said than done but you can do it. We all can do it and my own demons are just that, MINE. I work them out without some random person trying to get me to blow up.  I hope this has helped you and you keep doing what you love.

Neo Cab: Will Lina find her friend and be the last human driver?

What would it be like to be the last living Uber driver in the nation? Would it be freaky or just a movement towards advancement in technology? Come and check out Neo Cab and see the struggles that main character Lina faces.

Neo Cab is a single player game and it was released October 3, 2019 on steam from the developer Chance Agency and publisher Fellow Traveller. You can find Neo cab on steam right now for $14.99. You can find the game under adventure, Indie and RPG.

Luna driving Neo cab and with Savy her best friend.

Lina packed up her entire life to be with her best friend. Like many friends they had a rough falling out and have lost touch. They still consider one another best friends but Lina wants to reconnect with Savy and so she packs up and sells most of her life and heads to Los Ojos. She hasn’t even visited LO but she knows reconnecting with her friend and starting a new life is worth it.

Lina’s job is with Neo Cab, the last human driver for hire, so an Uber. All of the drivers now are ran by Capra. The cars are self-driven and Capra is running just about everything and everyone down to their bank accounts and police force. Once Lina enters Los Ojos she starts Neo Cab pickups. People are surprised and a little relieved to see a human behind a wheel and even now some people are down right against any type of vehicle as they call them death traps. As the night progresses Lina finally meets up with her best friend Savy, but it isn’t for long. She never makes it to their joint apartment and Savy ends up missing, kidnapped or worse. Lina is now a detective, homeless and in a new city she knows nothing about; all she has is her car, job and her thoughts.

Neo Cab: Lina uncovering what happened to her best friend.

Lina is now  sleeping in places where she can and does nightly drives to uncover the town, find out who knows Savy and what business she may have gotten into that she shouldn’t have and well get money from driving Neo Cab. At the same time she has to be careful as Capra has set out a law that is trying to be passed to ban all human drivers because they cause a threat to society.

So come and tag along with Lina in Los Ojos and uncover the abduction, try and stay afloat in a new city and survive without running into the wrong crowd.

My viewers and I are really loving Neo Cab. It has suspense and a really good sound track as a bonus. But it takes a spin on games that usually you would think would have more action but the conversations pull you in and it was so much fun interacting with my viewers and throwing out our own plots and what if’s and even letting them decided what Lina’s next move or statement would be. Even when I streamed last night, viewers asked when the next play of Neo Cab was going to be. So we will for sure be finishing throughout the game on stream. As stated you can get Neo Cab on steam but you can also remote play from a phone or tablet. The game does have captions so you will be doing a lot of reading/reading out loud. But I don’t mind it, it pulls you into the game and makes you feel more like a detective with Lina.

Neo Cab: menu to keep track of rating, clues, journal, money and the map of Los Ojos.

You have to keep track of your smart car’s energy, your money flow and your mood. Savy gave you a pretty much a mood bracelet that is called a Feelgrid. It keeps track if you need to cool your jets and take a break or ready to uncover your new found mystery. But people that see it seem to like to comment on it. The only thing I don’t like is when her mood is a certain color the game may give you 3 responses but you have to pick the one they want. I don’t see how that is fair and seems like they shouldn’t even give you the other options. You also have to keep your Neo Cab driver score over a 4 star rating; so the game does offer objects to keep in mind during game play. You really have to pay attention to the conversations that you have with your customers in Neo Cab, they give you many hints on where to go and sometimes who to even pick up. It’s nice that Lina keeps a journal that you can go back and look at as she scribbles down clues from her pax, these are the customers she picks up.

Neo Cab map of Los Ojos

I hope you can join in on the next stream of Neo Cab. I will be having my next stream of the game October 11th about 8pm cst. Come and help us uncover where Savy is and who took her.

P.S. I do recommend this game as 4/5 stars for an Indie and RPG game.
